Game 4 of our Christmas bundle is Inmomentum.

InMomentum is a game about creative and free movement. The game's goal is simple: to reach the end before anyone else does, or reach it as fast as possible by touching certain points and checkpoint gates. The slogan of the game "It's Your Move!" clearly reflects the mentality behind it.

Game spotlight: Manhunter

The second game of our Christmas bundle is Manhunter.

When John "Striker" Gullivan left the SAS, he's been far from thinking about retirement. A skilled sniper, veteran of many covert operations, he was ready to take on the less legal side of the "business".

Working closely with his friend Max - one of the best hackers there are - he quickly earned his fame among other mercenaries and private agencies. Yet, he was cautious enough to avoid standing openly against any legal government. He was even taking semi-official jobs that were too dangerous or too politically risky for any government agenda. This was an easy life.

Until now.

Features:

Play the role of a famous mercenary through 5 large, different chapters (14 huge levels total): Iranian hidden nuclear materials' processing plant, Moscow Trade Center where the trouble begins, City Dockyard hit-and-flee mission, Baykonur Cosmodrome shootout, and Iraq terrorist cave search for a missing VIP.
Game reflects John's sniper expertise. At the beginning of each chapter he is given 2 sniper rifles - a silenced Arctic Warfare as a primary weapon and additionally one specialised rifle that fits the chapter best, selected from a variety of choices. Additional rifles range from a very fast, semi automatic Saiga with sniper scope to a heavy and deadly Barrett .50.

Game simulates bullet ballistics depending on gravity, wind and bullet initial velocity for more realistic experience.

Using silencer on the Arctic Warfare or on John's personally modified P99 pistol may be useful at times, as the enemies fully depend on their eyes and ears - and they cannot chase what they don't see nor hear.
Playing the game as a "standard" shooter using automatic rifles and pistols taken from dead enemies is of course possible as well - still using sniper tactics over longer distances is easier.

Sophisticated enemy AI allows them to fight in groups, using different weapons and explosives, alarming and supporting each other, using terrain and objects in their tactics.

Renderer that produces beautiful images, full of light, beautiful atmospheric effects, realtime water, reflections, shadows and different, realistic surface materials complete with vivid, living environments with animated plant life, insects and birds.

Convincing storyline and action objectives. The player is constantly in contact with his HQ, which feeds him with data and changes mission objectives as he goes.

As the technology is very well tested and the team consists of professionals with long experience, the process of finishing, testing, localising and publishing the game should be most fluent.

From dev to dev: tips for promoting indie games with 0 budget from Andy Sum, developer of Crossy Road

If the name Andrew Sum doesn't ring a bell, I'm sure you all heard of Crossy Road. Yeah, that's right, that Frogger-like game, the best App Store of 2014. On November 23rd the app reached 1,000,000 downloads. That's cool, I thought. But only one month later Crossy Road scored 10,000,000 downloads and also became available on Android. Of course the game is awesome, hence the great success, but there must be something else. So I reached for Andy Sum, designer and developer of Crossy Road and I got him to answer a few questions regarding the promotion of his game.

He is such a cool and relaxed guy! It was fun talking to him.

1. What's the game that makes you proud and why?

At the moment it's tough! I've released a couple of games recently, but I'll go with Crossy Road because that just came out :) It's my favourite because it was fun to work on with Matt Hall and I think it's going to reach a lot of people and be enjoyed by many. That idea of lots of people having fun excites me.

2. Can you tell us, for the developers out there, what did you do to promote it? Or give out your 3 best tips to promote their indie game with 0 budget.

One of the best ways to promote your game is to give it to YouTubers for free. People who make YouTube Let's Play videos are always interested in the latest games and they can help drive a lot of new players to download your game. It doesn't matter if they have 200 subscribers or 20,000. It all helps generate awareness for your game.

I'd also say you should jump on Twitter and connect with other developers. That's where a lot of gamedev chatter happens and it's fun and interesting to participate.

Finally, make sure you have a nice website for your game with all of the information available so that anyone who wants to write an article on your game can easily get the info as well as images that they need.
